Yellow Iron Equipment
Yellow Iron approached Hatch with the task of branding their company, which specializes in the sale of heavy equipment and safety gear, prior to the launch. Yellow Iron required a brand that could speak strength, power, and endurance to their clients, while being equally identifiable within the market sector.
Throughout the design process, there were numerous challenges that needed to be taken into account in order to create a strong, over-arching brand. The presentation of the Yellow Iron logo needed to be flexible and compatible across various media types as the logo can appear in a stacked format, a horizontal format or as just the wordmark. Using simple and strong design, we created a powerful icon with custom typographic solution in the style to resemble the icon, thus creating a unique and identifiable wordmark. The finished result is a brand identity that works well on industrial equipment, corporate apparel, and promotional products.
The finished logo received a major design award in 2014, winning the Ontario Region for Logo Design of the Canadian Regional Design Awards.
